Dear Editor,
You may not be aware that yesterday—January 15—discussions were underway in Washington over concerns on internet hosted antisemitism. Congress is being called on by a coalition of pro-Jewish interest groups—including PJTN—to take steps to identify, regulate and remove antisemitic sites and postings that are increasingly eliciting the support of a new wave of virulent Jewish hatred in America and globally.
Did you know that both the Poway shooter and the Pittsburgh “Tree of Life” shooter—the latter being the most violent and deadly attack on the Jewish community in modern American history—were both perpetrated by Christian Nationalists who were Bible readers? Both were linked to internet fuelled inspiration as the match that lit the fuse to take innocent Jewish lives. Deranged minds and the impressionable minds of the young are fertile soil for seeds of hatred. A new generation of young internet seekers is soaking up the vile twisted writings of The Elders of the Protocols of Zion—the handbook of hatred and lies that Hitler used to assemble a virtual blueprint for the Holocaust. The cyber-world that surrounds us holds a blurred line between the ‘real and virtual worlds’ and deadly deeds that have followed.
Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter—all have been guilty of targeting conservative and Christian organizations while allowing hatred groups, some with radical neo-Nazi style messaging to flourish virtually unfettered. If the same energy being directed at shutting down Christian sites and conservative messaging was aimed at antisemitism, we would have a problem solved in the war on antisemitism.
PJTN has already served as a “canary in the coal mine” to warn what happens when big tech is allowed to create discriminatory policies based on the nefarious listings of political organizations like SPLC with an ax to grind. My outspoken opposition against antisemitism is not without a cost. A world of enemies of Christian values and haters of Israel who support the policies and actions of antisemites like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib have proven to us once again that freedom of speech does indeed come with a price.
However, in a free country that cherishes freedom of expression, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, technology companies, internet gurus, and far-left support groups and their enablers in Silicon Valley must not be allowed to hold unlimited power over our civil liberties and freedom of speech. Antisemitism must not be allowed to incubate in open forums on the internet at the expense of Jewish lives and Judeo-Christian freedoms in America.
The ban of PJTN by Amazon resulted in an unfortunate year-shortfall on our donations. Please know how important your support is!I will, of course, keep you posted on the progress in Washington as well as our own personal legal response to the SPLC’s discrimination against PJTN.
