In a strike conducted late Tuesday morning, the Israeli Air Force killed three Islamic Jihad operatives in the Gaza Strip.

The three terrorists were members of the Al-Quds Brigade, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad. Gaza healthy ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra confirmed the deaths of the three men.

“Three martyrs have died in the Zionist strike,” al-Qudra told AFP.

According to a statement by the Al-Quds Brigade, the men were killed after they fired mortar shells from Gaza into Israel. The terrorists were trying to prevent “an Israeli incursion east of Khan Yunis.”

The IDF said that Islamic Jihad operatives were attempting to attack IDF forces stationed near the Gaza Strip.

IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner stated, “Rapid reaction and operational capabilities are key to combating terrorist activities against Israel and our forces. Terrorists must know that there is a price to pay when participating in aggression.”

Monday evening, the IDF killed a Palestinian terrorist in Judea and Samaria responsible for stone throwing attacks near Route 60 in Judea and Samaria.

At the Allenby checkpoint between Israel and Jordan Monday morning, a Palestinian man attacked an IDF soldier and attempted to steal his weapon. The man, Raed Zieter, was shot dead by IDF soldiers. According to an IDF investigation, Zieter charged at soldiers with a metal pole shouting “Allah Akbar.”
